Goals "Exercise in Special Groups" course aims to provide master and doctoral students with in-depth knowledge and skills in the design, implementation and evaluation of exercise programmes for different age groups and individuals with special needs. The main aim of the course is to develop appropriate exercise strategies to encourage the participation of special groups in physical activity and to improve their health, physical capacity and quality of life. Students learn to design special exercise programmes for individuals with disabilities, the elderly, individuals with chronic diseases and other special groups.
Course Content Physical, physiological and psychosocial characteristics of special groups, basic principles and scientific approaches for exercise planning and implementation in accordance with the needs of these groups constitute the general content of this course. Types of exercise for disabled individuals, the elderly, heart patients, obese individuals and other special groups and the benefits that these groups can obtain from exercise are discussed.
Learning Outcomes - Learns in detail the physiological and psychosocial characteristics of special groups such as disabled individuals, the elderly and those with chronic diseases.
- Design and implement safe and effective exercise programmes for special groups.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of exercise programmes and make adjustments to the programmes when necessary.
- To be able to scan the current literature and scientific researches about exercise in special groups and use them for their own studies.
- Develops exercise projects designed for special groups and presents them in academic presentation format.
