Goals To provide students with the knowledge and skills related to scientific research in the field of sport sciences; to equip them with the ability to plan, write and present scientific research and to evaluate the rules to be followed in this process.
Course Content Literature review, hypothesis formulation, problem determination, experimental setup, cost planning, project preparation for national and international academic platforms.
Learning Outcomes - Defines and explains the basic knowledge and concepts related to science and research method.
- Can analyse the types of scientific research comparatively.
- Can act in accordance with the rules of footnote and bibliography in writing the research.
- Takes into account the rules of style and scientific ethics in writing the research.
- Selects data collection / information gathering methods appropriate to research methods and techniques.

1. Week Basic concepts and definitions related to science and scientific research. Ethics in scientific research
2. Week Scientific Research Methods: Classification and comparison of qualitative and quantitative research
3. Week Examination of research models in qualitative research.
4. Week Examination of research models in quantitative research.
5. Week Examination of preferred research methods in Physical Education and Sports Sciences.
6. Week Examination of scientific research variable types (dependent, independent, regulatory, control and intermediate) variables with examples.
7. Week Explaining the ways of accessing scientific knowledge, scanning scientific studies in databases (articles, theses, etc.) in practice
8. Week Mid-term exam
9. Week Examination of the stages of the scientific research process (subject selection, purpose, importance, problem and sub-problem, hypothesis, limitation and assumption)
10. Week Examination of the universe and sampling methods in scientific studies.
