Goals The aim of this course is to examine the causes, physiopathology and health effects of obesity from a scientific perspective. The course aims to enable students to understand the effects of obesity on physical and psychosocial health and to understand the positive contributions of exercise on quality of life. It also aims to teach how to create exercise prescriptions, emphasising the importance of multidisciplinary approaches in the management and treatment of obesity.
Course Content The aim of this course is to examine the causes, physiopathology and health effects of obesity from a scientific perspective. The course aims to enable students to understand the effects of obesity on physical and psychosocial health and to understand the positive contributions of exercise on quality of life. It also aims to teach how to create exercise prescriptions, emphasising the importance of multidisciplinary approaches in the management and treatment of obesity.
Learning Outcomes - Understands the causes of obesity caused by biological, environmental and genetic factors.
- Explain the biochemical and physiological effects of exercise on the human body.
- Creates safe and effective exercise protocols for obese individuals and learns application methods.
- Recognise modern technological tools (mobile applications, wearable devices, etc.) used in obesity management and analyse the effects of the use of these tools.
- Defines and evaluates the effects of obesity on mental health and social life of the individual.
