Goals The aim of the course is to teach students the establishment and planning of nurseries, principles of open and closed field seedling production, generative and vegetative seedling production techniques, seedling maintenance measures and seedling quality principles.

1. Week Introduction, determination of nursery working purpose and types, site selection in nursery management, nursery establishment plan, rotation plans, internal division plan 
2. Week Leveling and preparation of the nursery area, drainage, soil cultivation
3. Week Principles of growing indoor seedlings, determination of greenhouse type, greenhouse building elements
4. Week Seedling production in greenhouses, heating, cooling, ventilation, irrigation principles
5. Week Seed sources, seed supply and harvesting
6. Week Principles of growing seedlings in nursery (nursery practice)
7. Week exam
8. Week Principles and techniques of seed production (seed quality, germination barrier, germination and factors affecting germination), pre-treatment of seeds, seed quality and control
9. Week Recognition of forest tree and ornamental plant seeds, determination of various seed properties, determination of seed viability and pre-treatment application (laboratory application)
10. Week Growing bare-root seedlings (preparation of planting pads, planting time, planting frequency, open field planting methods)
11. Week Growing covered seedlings (containers used, production and growing media, mortar preparation, arrangement of covered seedling sites)
12. Week Vegetative production (propagation by cuttings, grafting, immersion propagation, other vegetative propagation techniques)
13. Week Culture care in the nursery (weeding and hoeing, irrigation, fertilization, other maintenance measures)
14. Week Sapling inventory, sapling dismantling, storage of saplings, sapling transportation
