Goals | Turkish Youth are aware of their national, human, spiritual and cultural values, as individuals of the Republic of Turkey founded by the Great Atatürk, who know their duties and responsibilities towards their state, who believe that the Turkish State is an indivisible whole with their country and nation, and who are justified in this. who feels pride, who wholeheartedly understands and embraces Ataturk's Principles, who tries to be more beneficial to his country with the strength he derives from these beliefs, who thinks and acts democratically, who has scientific thought, who loves and respects people, who respects human rights, who exhibits a questioning and critical attitude, who Our aim is to bring young people into society who can comprehend the events of the age, develop a scientific perspective on historical events and aim to reach the level of contemporary civilizations. |
Course Content | Revolutions made in the political field: Abolition of the Caliphate, declaration of the Republic. Taking steps to establish/construct the new state; Political parties and political events established during the Ataturk period. Republican People's Party, Progressive Republican Party, Free Republican Party. Relations between the government and the opposition. The problems of democratization of political and social life and the transition to a multi-party system in Turkey; Revolutions in the field of law. Realization of reforms regulating social and economic life; Revolutions in the field of education. Construction of modern and secular educational institutions; Revolutions in the field of culture. The relationship between the establishment of the nation-state and national culture; Revolutions in the field of economics. Reorganization of the economy from the axis of the establishment of the nation-state. Strategies and practices of the new Turkish economy; Turkish Foreign Policy in the Atatürk Era I (1923-1930). Turkey's relations with European states after the Treaty of Lausanne (1923); Turkish Foreign Policy in the Atatürk Era II (1930-1938). Turkey's relations with European states in relation to the totalitarian regimes in Continental Europe. Relations with the Soviet Union and the USA. Reflections of foreign policy on social and intellectual life; Ataturk's Principles - Republicanism, Nationalism, Secularism; Ataturk's Principles - Populism, Statism, Revolutionism and Integral Principles; Turkish Foreign Policy after Atatürk (1938-1960). Presidency of İsmet İnönü. II. World War II and Turkey: Turkish foreign policy, effects of the war on political and social life; II. Characteristics of the change in Turkish political life after World War II: Establishment of the multi-party system. 1946 Elections in Turkey.
