Goals | • To make students aware of the developments, researches and studies in the literature of the field of spiritual counseling and guidance. • To comprehend the presentation of psychological counseling services by combining them with spiritual counseling practices that have examples in the world. • Learning to use the local traditions, beliefs, cultures and wisdom of the people to whom psychological counseling services are provided |
Course Content | Universal paradigm transformation, the relationship between psychology and spirituality, the development of spiritual counseling, what spirituality and mysticism are, the effects of religious experiences and rituals on human psychology and physiology, the implications of spiritual counseling in beliefs and religious traditions, the relationship between pastoral counseling and spiritual counseling, holistic perspective on human behavior, evaluation and use of spirituality in psychotherapy, ethical and legal issues, socio-cultural debates are discussed. In addition, methods, models and programs in spiritual counseling are examined. New methods, models and programs are developed. |
