Course Content | In this course, based on the general learning aim of the course, students are expected to have the following target behaviours at the end of the course: 1. Explains the basic concepts related to intellectual disability. 2. Defines mental disability. 3. Explains important people, events and phenomena that have influenced the developments in the education of individuals with intellectual disabilities in terms of their effects on educational practices. 4. Defines the causes of intellectual disability. 5. Defines the characteristics of individuals with intellectual disability. 6. Defines the diagnostic criteria and evaluation process in intellectual disability. 7. Explains the education of individuals with intellectual disability. 8. Explains support special education practices for individuals with intellectual disabilities. 9. Explains the teaching processes of individuals with intellectual disabilities 10. Explains the importance of family participation and co-operation of individuals with intellectual disability. |
