Goals The aim of this course is to equip the students of vocational schools with the related and necessary grammar, vocabulary, functions and four skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) required to deal with the situations in professional context.
Course Content Vocational English I course aims at developing language awareness through an integrated syllabus that focuses on the key grammar, skills, communication and pronunciation essential to the professionals at A2 level of proficiency. This course also focuses on building confidence in working in English with effective communication strategies for workplace situations such as giving people information, writing e-mails and dealing with complaints.
Learning Outcomes - understand the details as well as the main points of speech on familiar topics or areas of interest
- write formal/informal business e-mails, e-mail invitations and accept or refuse them
- communicate with some confidence on familiar matters related to his/her interests and professional field
- express thoughts on areas of interest and immediate relevance
- acquire enough language to get by, with sufficient vocabulary to express him/herself
- get sufficient vocabulary to express him/herself with on most topics pertinent to his/her everyday and professional life
- communicate with reasonable accuracy in familiar contexts with generally good control.
