Goals Teaching basic concepts of environmental chemistry, providing an ability to apply methods for the determination of pollution parameters, providing an ability to interpret analysis results
Course Content Methods for sampling and sample preservation. Solids. Alkalinity. Acidity. Total hardness. Dissolved oxygen. Biochemical oxygen demand. Chemical oxygen demand. Total Kjeldahl nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen. Total phosphorous. Oil and grease. Instrumental analysis: Chromatographic methods of analysis. High volume particulate sampling, elemental analysis. Emission measurements.
