Goals The aim of the course is to examine the start of modern philosophy in the light of philosophers theories.
Course Content Bacon, Hobbes, Descartes, Spinoza, Leibniz and Locke. Empiricism and Rationalism, Problem of methodology. The relation between mind-body. The source of knowledge. Social contract.
Learning Outcomes - Grasps the condition which led to the modern philosophy.
- interprets the principles of the subject oriented philosophy.
- comprehends the differences between empiricsm and rationalism
- Brings interpretations to the areas such as “the freedom of will”, “source of knowledge” and the “relation between mind and body”.
