Goals | The aim of the course is to; - To provide an understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the basic concepts of Sustainable Development (SD), ˗ Learn to recognize, analyze and solve a sustainability problem using SD's problem solving methodologies, ˗ To provide an understanding of the basic disciplinary concepts of natural sciences, social sciences and humanities related to the solution of sustainability problems in ecotourism, ˗ To analyze the economic, environmental and social problems of developed, developing and underdeveloped countries, especially those related to slow growth, stagnation, high poverty rates, high income inequality and chronic external crises, with a focus on ecotourism, - To discuss ecotourism strategies to accelerate economic growth and productivity, achieve SD, reduce poverty and income inequality, and reduce external imbalances both within and between countries globally. |
Course Content | In this course; ˗ Explain the concepts of sustainability and ecotourism. ˗ Explains the importance of sustainable development for human and society. ˗ Knows good practice examples from the world and Turkey in the field of ecotourism for sustainable development. ˗ Understands the importance of ecotourism in sustainability and rural development. ˗ Explains the relationship between sustainable development goals and ecotourism. |
