Goals The aim of this course is to make students understand foreign language teaching approaches, methods and techniques, to discuss how they reflect in the classroom and to examine the foreign language teaching curriculum for elementary schools
Course Content Basic concepts concerning foreign language teaching; foreign language teaching for young learners; communicative competence and communicative language teaching; techniques for teaching foreign language to young learners; how to teach foreign language skills; how to teach foreign language structure; feedback and assessment in foreign language teaching; CEFR and proficieny levels; the foreign language teaching curriculum for elementary schools; developing and applying sample lessons.
Learning Outcomes - To explain the basic concepts concerning foreign language teaching.
- To discuss the importance and necessity of foreign language teaching for young learners.
- To idetify foreign language proficiency levels.
- To explain foreign language teaching approaches, methods and techniques.
- To interpret how foreign language teaching approaches, methods and techniques reflect in the classroom.
- To interpret how feedback and assessment practices reflect in the foreign language classroom.
- To develop and apply sample foreign language lessons for young learners.
