Goals | Introduction of conservation and restoration practices in the Historic Environment, learning about the processes of surveying, restitution and restoration, taking legislative and conservation education about the applications to be made before and after the restoration |
Course Content | The course will focus primarily on the historical background and theoretical basis of conservation, and conservation approaches will be discussed from past to present. Relevant conservation approaches and restoration techniques will be discussed with critical perspectives on a weekly basis through student presentations. The theoretical basis of the MMR 304 Historical Environmental Protection and Restoration II course, which will be mainly applied in the second term, will be laid within the scope of this course, by covering the conservation criteria, evaluation levels, registration classes, factors that cause deterioration in monuments, pre and post restoration processes. |
