Goals Learning the general properties and concepts of materials required for architectural education, examining application methods and techniques, gaining research efficiency.
Course Content Building-material-design relationship. Basic properties of building materials. Natural stones, Aggregate and Binding materials (cement-lime, gypsum) Concrete, Special Concrete, Polymer, Wood, Clay, Glass, Metal, Insulation materials and applications, Modern materials in building overview
Learning Outcomes - To be able to express the relationship between building-material-design
- To be able to describe the physical, mechanical and technological properties of materials
- Learning the production methods of building materials
- Gaining knowledge of using and application of building materials in the right place
- Making the right decisions in building material selection depending on the design, environment and user requirements
- Learning the types of insulation materials used in the building
- To know the usage areas of the insulation materials used in the building
