Goals Design and integration of building elements. Design of building element systems within the frame work of constructional design requirements. Integration of building element systems in line with the holistic approach (roof/exterior wall, exterior wall/window-door, exterior wall/floor, floor/stair, exterior wall/partion, floor/partion etc.).
Course Content Analysis, design and integration of building elements. External wall systems (walls in contact with atmosphere and ground), window and door systems, floor systems (ground, intermediate and exposed-soffit floors, suspended ceilings, raised floors), vertical circulation systems (ramps and stairs), roof systems (flat and sloping roofs), partition systems (fixed and moveable partitions). Design of building element systems within the frame work of constructional design requirements, criteria and resources. Integration of building element systems in line with the holistic approach.
Learning Outcomes - To gain knowledge about Structural definitions, concepts, classification of buildings
- To gain knowledge about the details of construction materials such as foundations, walls, floors, stairs and so on.
- To gain abilities to compose the components of different types of structure from rough to fine construction levels
