Goals to learn after the prophet the political, military, religious and cultural structure of Islamic geography from the emergence of the caliphate institution to the end of Abbasid period.
Course Content Rashidun Caliphs period events, Selection of caliphs, Events of apostasy and conquests; The emergence of Umayyads and Abbasids; Transformation of the caliphate into sultanate and its consequences; Important internal and external developments of Umayyad and Abbasid periods.
Learning Outcomes - Evaluate the period of first caliphs socially.

- Follows the development process of institutions.
- Understands the development process of the concept of caliphate.
