| Goals | to learn after the prophet the political, military, religious and cultural structure of Islamic geography from the emergence of the caliphate institution to the end of Abbasid period. |
| Course Content | Rashidun Caliphs period events, Selection of caliphs, Events of apostasy and conquests; The emergence of Umayyads and Abbasids; Transformation of the caliphate into sultanate and its consequences; Important internal and external developments of Umayyad and Abbasid periods. |
