Goals The aim of this course is to comprehend the historical and intellectual foundations of the Turkish education system; to recognise its legal foundations, purpose, structure and functioning; to comprehend the theoretical and practical aspects of school management in the context of management science and the concept of organisation.
Course Content The formation of education systems and the structure of the Turkish education system; basic laws regulating the Turkish education system; central, provincial and foreign organisation of the Ministry of National Education; education levels in the Turkish education system; manpower, physical, technological and financial resources in the Turkish education system; reform and innovation initiatives in the Turkish education system; organisation-management theories and processes; school as a social system and organisation; management of human resources; student personnel affairs; affairs related to education and training; affairs related to school management; school, environment, society and family relations; current discussions and trends related to the Turkish education system and school.
Learning Outcomes - Explain the historical and intellectual foundations of the Turkish education system.
