Goals Teaching the basic concepts and techniques related to rhythm and dance.
Course Content Basic concepts of rhythm and dance, the rhythm of music and movement, posture exercises, walks, jumps, bounces and galops, rhythm, melody and music selection, waltz, tango, jazz, dance-related steps, and dance compositions.
Learning Outcomes - Summarizes the basic rules of rhythm education and dance branch.
- Comprehends the teaching techniques of rhythm education and dance skills.
- Applies rhythm training and stepping techniques of dance branch.
- Applies rhythm education and music selection of dance branch.
Weekly Topics (Content)
Week Topics Learning Methods
1. Week Rhythm and dance definitions, historical development and classification of dance.
2. Week Giving note and measure information. Analysis of full note, half note and quarter note, definition of tempo, pace and practice of marches and various step forms.
3. Week Walking by changing direction, movement exercises according to music, using various step forms, studying arm positions from basic dance positions
4. Week Studying arm-foot positions with musical steps. Giving information about the selection of music suitable for dance.
5. Week Working with galop, hopping, colt movements by adding space. Moves, stretches and application of these movements in various step forms.
6. Week Leaps and jumps, teaching turns. combining jumps and turns with intermediate steps
7. Week Practice of the learned basic movements using link movements. Various starting and final poses.
8. Week Midterm Exam
9. Week Study of different connection movements. choreography preparation.
10. Week introduction of dance types, giving general information and technique of tango, one of the paired dances

12. Week Creating compositions with the group and correcting their deficiencies
13. Week Demonstration of various formations and composition work as a group
14. Week Studying composition as a group with sample music
