Goals To teach students the basic concepts of philosophy, reading philosophy texts, and learning about language.
Course Content What is philosophy? How can we distinguish philosophy from science, art, and religion? What is ontology? What is epistemology? What is ethics? Is philosophy necessary? Examples of Socrates, Descartes, Nietzsche.
Learning Outcomes - 1. Separating philosophy from other fields of knowledge. 2. To be able to describe the main areas of philosophy, the main problems in these areas and the main solutions proposed to them. 3. To be able to look at the world and the age in it with philosophy (concepts). 4. To be able to catch and discuss the philosophical problems specific to the age and geography.
