Goals To understand the importance of language in individual and national life and the structural features of Turkish language, to teach the historical periods of Turkish; To comprehend the sound and shape structure of Turkish and to develop the student's ability to express what he listens, reads, sees and thinks both in words and in writing in a planned, effective and fluent way.
Course Content Definition and birth of language, language qualities; language types; types of language analysis, classification of languages on earth; The place of Turkish language among world languages; The basic features of the Turkish language; Historical features of Turkish written language; grammar.
Learning Outcomes - Know the definition of language, have an idea about the place and importance of language in the life of a nation as a social institution, realize the connection between language-culture and language-thought.
- Learns the place of Turkish language among the world languages, realizes the richness and subtleties of Turkish, knows the difference of Turkish language from other languages.
- Have knowledge about the development of Turkish language and its historical transfers.
- Have information about the current state of Turkish language and its spreading areas.
- Understand the sound features and rules of Turkish, and know how to use these rules in written expression.
- Have knowledge about the structure features of Turkish
- Calculates the effects of words that cause language pollution in the environment on the language and realizes the effects of culture on the language.
