Goals To provide students with an interdisciplinary approach to the restoration of a damaged ecosystem by choosing alternative bio-technical restoration materials.
Course Content Examine natural and degraded habitats • Learn what natural and human activities can degrade or destroy ecosystems • Explore the science of restoration ecology • View examples of restoration projects • Research a restoration project of interest and give a presentation
Learning Outcomes - • Identifies natural and degraded ecosystems
- Distinguish between natural and human activities that damage ecosystems
- Plans the restoration process to be carried out in different ecosystems that have been intervened
- Reports the restoration planning stages
- Analyzing the ecological structure and functions of the landscape and reporting how to protect and restore the ecological structure in actions related to the restoration and management of landscapes
