Goals Course Objective In the frame of manufacturing disciplines, gaining of theoretical and practical knowledge in the creation of products. Identification and problem solving in manufacturing periods
Course Content • Knowing turning machine and it’s cutting tools and using safely. Information about sharpening of the cutting tools and how can make an exercise. • Choosing tools and machines suitable for the production process and to make applications within the boundaries of the security rules. • Knowing of the using of finishing, milling, tapping, drilling, crimping tools and preparing furniture for every stage of the surface processes being aware of the importance of surface processes on the furniture industry. • The appreciation students completed this course gain to manufacturing disciplines, practical, comprehensive knowledge and skill about furniture production. • Put in use knowledge/skill acquired during the course in work environment effectively.

Week Topics Learning Methods
1. Week Dealing format of lecture, explained to the following rule and the delivery of machine tools and tool cabinets. The drawing and planning of the exercise, preparing of the parts cut list, rough cutting of the exercise parts.
2. Week Control of project files, information about turning techniques, the exercise of straight turning, rough cutting of the exercise parts.
3. Week Straight turning exercise, rough cutting of the exercise part and laminating of wood pieces.
4. Week Straight and gradual turning exercises, laminating and cleaning of wood pieces.
5. Week Laminating and cleaning of wood pieces and preparing of veneer, gradual turning exercises
6. Week Laminating and cleaning of wood pieces and preparing of veneer, bead-cut turning exercises.
7. Week Information about using of pressure machine and pressing veneers, bead-cut turning exercises.
8. Week Measuring of wood pieces, continue to work on the project, conical and V- cut turning exercises
