Goals The objective of this course is to provide civil engineering students with fundamental knowledge on occupational health and safety, to foster a culture of safe working practices, and to develop skills aimed at minimizing workplace accidents. Furthermore, the course aims to make students aware and competent in safety regulations, risk assessment methods, and safety management systems.
Course Content This course covers the introduction to occupational health and safety concepts, safety regulations, creating a safety culture in the workplace, risk assessment techniques, safety management systems, use of personal protective equipment, prevention of workplace accidents, and methods for protecting against occupational diseases. Occupational safety practices in the construction industry are reinforced through case studies and accident examples.
