Goals The behavior of steel structural elements, design codes that element sizing approaches, tension, compression and bending under the influence of design elements, design, bolt and weld junctions
Course Content Steel structures in civil engineering, steel, material properties, loads, steel building structures, steel structure attachment means, bolted joints, welded joints, tensile bars, traction bars, supplements, one-piece rods and compression, bending and lateral buckling behavior of , steel structure application.
Learning Outcomes - He/She can compare the material properties of steel with other civil engineering materials.
- He/She knows the basics of steel design
- He/She can design the tension steel members according to the code
- He/She can interpret the behavior of buckling according to the principal axis
- He/She can design the compression steel members according to the code
- He/She can comment on the lateral torsional buckling behavior of beams
- He/She can design beams under pure bending according to the code
- He/She can design simple shear connections made with bolts
- He/She can design simple moment connections made with bolts
- He/She can design simple welded connections
- He/She can design splices under tension force
- He/She can design beam splices
