Goals General Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to learn the basic concepts of disaster sociology and social effects of disasters.
Course Content 530/5000 Course content: Basic concepts in disaster sociology; sociological approach to people and society; basic sociological theories, methods and topics; risk sociology; environmental sociology; effects of disasters on society; long-term social effects of disasters; organized reaction to disaster; disaster management and non-governmental organizations; social communication and organization in disasters; post-disaster evacuation and resettlement; disasters, family and children: social rehabilitation; social effects of disasters by age groups; disasters and social change
