Goals The aim of this course is to explain the basic principles and dynamics of economic development, to show the relationship between the developments of the countries and their socio-economic status, to discuss the effects of knowledge, technology and population on the development and growth of countries.
Course Content The concept of development and international development indicators, Development trends, The problem of underdevelopment and theoretical framework of it, Social and structural change in development process, Structural transformation and the impact of advanced technology industries; country examples, Institutionalist approach: The importance of institutional structures; Development alternatives.
Learning Outcomes - Students can discuss the development suggestions of alternative approaches.
