Goals To analyze the international dimension of the economy in real terms, to examine the reasons that lead countries to mutual trade with theories, to evaluate Turkey's foreign trade structure and development
Course Content Causes of international trade, absolute and comparative advantages, Heckscher-Ohlin analysis, foreign trade theory, protectionism, tariffs and non-tariff instruments, globalization, economic mergers, EU and non-EU economic groupings, etc. will be analyzed and interpreted.
Learning Outcomes - To be able to distinguish the place of international economics in general economics and its difference from other fields as a separate specialization
- To be able to reveal the reasons for international trade.
- To be able to analyze the theories explaining international trade comparatively.
- To be able to distinguish the different structures of inter-industry and intra-industry trade.
- Evaluate the limitations of traditional theories in a changing world trade system
- To be able to discuss the contributions of new theories of foreign trade.
- To be able to question the world trade system and the place of underdeveloped countries based on the theoretical relationship between foreign trade and growth.
- To be able to analyze Turkey's foreign trade structure and its place in the world trade system by taking into account the development of foreign trade.
