Goals Psychiatric Nursing course, normal human behavior, the basic principle of mental health and psychiatric nursing, concept, function and process, human relations and ways of developing skills and knowledge gained in this field perceptions / attitudes, family and community mental health protection, maintenance and development, mental health and rehabilitation failed to improve the effective use of individual goals.
Course Content The course includes definition, history, theories and concepts of psychiatric-mental health nursing, Psychiatric diagnostic, Mood disorders, Schizophrenia and other delusional disorders, Personality disorders, Child mental health and disorders, Anxiety disorders, Somatoform disorders, Alcohol and substance addiction, Delirium, dementia and amnestic disorders, Eating disorders, Sexual disorders and Treatment and nursing approach of all disorders, Community mental health services and nursing, Psychiatric nursing in emergency situations, Psychiatric consultation-liaison nursing, Forensic psyhiatric nursing.
Learning Outcomes - The student recognize factors that affect human behavior normal and abnormal behavior patterns.
- The students explain in our country in the world and the importance of community mental health, protection, maintenance, development, and responsibilities of the nurse to this area.
- The student identify mental health and psychiatric nursing definition, purpose, philosophy, functions, standards, and the process of historical development.
- The students to assess risk groups for mental health in the community
- The students to use therapeutic communication techniques and principles
- The student to define and implement the special nursing interventions for individualswith mental illness
- The students identify the individuals specific treatment approaches and to use theseskills for treatments (ECT, Group Therapies ...)
- The student intervene in childhood, adolescent and geriatric problems
- The Students can define psychiatric emergency situations and take appropriate steps to the availability
- The Students can define ethical issues in psychiatry, and ethical relations, legal issues andexhibit appropriate behavior
