Goals The main objective of this course is to shape students’ knowledge of grammar and vocabulary within language skills at the Introductory level (A1)
Course Content After completing the course, the students should be able to: Knowledge: - have command of basic grammatical patterns. - identify the needed vocabulary of daily language. Skills - (Reading) Students must possess the basic reading-comprehension skills, be able to read simple texts, highlight their basic ideas, be familiar with the notion of the paragraph and recognize basic English styles (registers); - (Writing) Students must be able to write short dialogues on a given topic and descriptions about physical appearances/environment and daily life and be familiar with the basic rules of spelling and punctuation; - (Listening) Students must possess the basic listening-comprehension skills, basic phrases/words and grammatical patterns, be able to fill in the charts following the instructions of the text-book (listening for main ideas, listening for details, etc.); - (Speaking) Students must be able to ask and answer simple questions on the familiar topics, make short dialogues and participate in conversations on the subjects of the units, repeat and rephrase things, use simple phrases/sentences and available vocabulary and interact in a simple way. Attitude -Be motivated to learn English ( Reducing anxiety level and prejudice by promoting intrinsic motivation with games-rewards-positive reinforcement maintaining safe classroom environment) -be aware of the importance of learning English for their academic life -be interested in the language ( use of authentic, current and attractive materials Competence -To express themselves by making use of their skills/knowledge in real life situations.
Learning Outcomes - Nouns, adjectives and pronouns that can understand the meaning and of the rules
- Tense, future tense and past tense rules and their meaning, the meaning and use of auxiliary verbs can'n comprehend the difference
- Read on to understand the text
- Be able to write short texts
- Simple sentences that can be processed in time
- Learn the words that can be used in speech-writing activities
- Processed using the rules of grammar will be able to express themselves
