Goals The aim of this lesson is to introduce students to alkene addition reactions, NMR and mass spectroscopy, different methods of obtaining alcohols, conjugated and aromatic systems.
Course Content Addition reactions to alkenes, NMR and mass spectroscopies, Radical reactions, alcohols, ethers, preparation of alcohols from carbonyl compounds, Conjugated unsaturated systems and aromatic compounds
Learning Outcomes - The student knows properties and preparation of some essential organic compounds.
- The student evaluate the reaction mechanism of the reaction on the basis of given data.
- The student recognizes the reactions of the most important functional groups such as alkenes, aromatics, alkynes, aldehydes, ketones, alcohols and alkyl halides
- Student learns how to elucidate the structure of various organic compounds
