Goals The aim of this course is to teach the political, economic and cultural processes of Ottoman modernization from the 18th century to the first quarter of the 20th century and to provide an understanding of the foundations of modern Turkey.
Course Content To examine the foundations on which the Ottoman modernization rose and which actors and dynamics were effective, its course in the Ottoman central and provincial society, its effects on the cities, taking into account the shaping of institutions.
Learning Outcomes - To teach. historical, cultural and administrative aspects of the transition from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic, develop the ability to evaluate past and present.
