Goals Teaching historians whose marked with their works to the historiography and besides Turkish historiography and its basic features from Ottoman period to present.
Course Content Analayzing and Comprehending to the Ottoman and Turkish historiography
Learning Outcomes - 1. To be able to understand the necessity of reading historical documents with the ability of deciphering the language employed. 2. To be able to grasp the vitality of appliying to the dictionaries and other reference books in reading historical documents. 3. To be able to sort out by whom the historical sources written. 4. To be able to sort out for whom the historical sources written. 5. To be able to sort out why the historical sources written. 6. To be able to understand the fact that oversimplification and overgeneralization are serious dangers in historical writing. 7. To be able to grasp the fact that history alone is not an area of investigation without other disciplines. 8. To know the fact that it is obligatory to have the support of other disciplines to be able to evaluate the historical documents.
