Goals This course aims to deal with the political processes of the Ottoman Empire from the beginning of the Modern Age to the First World War.
Course Content Understands the political situation of the Ottoman Empire in the early modern times, learns the rebellions and independence processes that took place in the period when the ideas of nationalism spread to the empire, understands the effect of the modern colonial process on the land losses of the Ottoman Empire, Learns the diplomatic relations between the Ottoman Empire and European states in the process leading up to the First World War.
Learning Outcomes - To have knowledge about 19th century Ottoman political history
- To have knowledge about modernization movements in the Ottoman Empire
- To have knowledge about the political situation of the Ottoman Empire during the Crimean War
- To analyze the political situation of the state during the reign of Sultan Abdülhamid II
