Goals In this course, it is aimed that students will be able to define autism spectrum disorder, important people who have influenced the developments in the education of individuals with autism spectrum disorder, events and phenomena and their effects on educational practices, the causes of this deficiency, diagnostic criteria and evaluation process, characteristics and general principles of education.
Course Content Basic concepts; individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD); classification: educational, psychological, medical; prevalence and incidence; Causes: prenatal, moment of birth, postpartum; screening/diagnostics: medical, developmental, and educational screening/diagnostics; academic and non-academic characteristics; team and collaboration; educational environments; scientifically based applications; characteristics of families; Attitudes towards the individual with ASD and their families; services, support and legal rights provided to families.
Learning Outcomes - Individuals with autism spectrum disorder know the criteria for the diagnostic criteria.
- He knows The intervention programs suitable for individues with autism spectrum disorder and their family.
- It adjusts the environment, teaching method and support services required for the education of individuals with autism spectrum disorder.
- Autism offers the necessary information to the family of the individual with a spectrum disorder and all stakeholders that the individual receives additional services, gives importance to cooperation and applies.
