Goals The aim is to provide information about the special education teachers on topics such as knowledge and techniques they use in teaching Turkish.
Course Content The literacy development for students who need special education and related activities to understand the value of reading; develop the vocabulary; grammar teaching; The process of writing; written texts; preparation activities related to written expression skills; The definition of reading skills and strategies; Text analysis in the application of skills and strategies; The importance of individualized reading instruction: implementation and evaluation; critical reading; creative writing; reading text analysis methods; developers work on listening skills; in groups with special educational needs specific literacy developer techniques / strategies.
Learning Outcomes - Prepares a lesson plan suitable for achievements in special education and Turkish primary school curriculums.
- Assesses the listening comprehension skills, makes appropriate planning according to assessment results, prepares appropriate materials and uses appropriate teaching methods for students .
- Plans dialogic reading activities and carries out the activities.
- Assesses vocabulary of students, makes appropriate planning according to assessment results, prepares appropriate materials and uses appropriate teaching methods for students .
- Says the names of national and international children's literature authors and their works.
- Defines the dimensions of reading fluency, determines reading accuracy, reading rate, makes error analysis; makes appropriate planning according to assessment results, prepares appropriate materials and uses appropriate teaching methods for students.
- Defines reading comprehension skills, assesses reading comprehension skills, prepare assessment materials (text selection, question preparation, etc.), make appropriate planning according to assessment results, prepares appropriate materials and use appropriate teaching methods for students.
