Goals To make people understand the importance of the language in the life of individuals and the nation, to teach the phonetic and structural features of the Turkish language, to introduce the Turkish language closely with its historical periods, and to expand the vocabulary of students.
Course Content "Language" as a means of oral and written communication, historical periods of Turkish, phonetic and structural features of Turkish, current problems of Turkish, sample literary and scientific texts.
Learning Outcomes - Evaluates the text which he/she readed and the programme which he/she listened to.
- There is no doubt that Turkish is a science language.
- The student discusses the relations between the language and culture
- To get detailed information about the general characteristics of Turkish and to use this information in English.
- The student discusses the historical periods of Turkish language
- Evaluates every aspect of a text he / she reads, a program he / she watches.
- Defines the specifics of the Turkish language.
- Applies the spelling rules. Uses the punctuation in its proper place.
- Discusses Turkish phonetics
- Develops writing on a subject
- Writes petition and curriculum vitae/personal background.
- Discusses the historical development of Turkish and its currrent issues.
- Evaluates every aspect of a text he / she reads, a program he / she watches
- Explains the literary norms (articles, essays, poems, novels, short stories etc.).
- Sorts the differences and similarities about the literary norms.
