Goals The course aims to introduce the basic concepts of art and the historical development of artistic idea. The student will be taught that the concepts have been changing throughout time and place and have an idea for the facts of artist, art institutions, and audience to understand the work of art.
Course Content This is a course to introduce students to the definitions of art, the differentiation of arts from crafts and compositional elements. The course involves the development of the idea of art and art history providing students numerous samples of works of art to understand and interprete the habits of world perception and image production. It also deals with the facts such as imagination, beauty, appreciation, and aesthetic judgements.
Learning Outcomes - Student learns the changing meaning of art in the historical context by different functions
- Student becomes familiar with the differences and similarities between art and craft.
- Student gets knowledge on the imagination, beauty, appreciation
- Different art disciplines such as painting photography, architecture, cinema and photograph are to be taught.
- Student is able to perceive and interpret the habits of world perception and image production.
- Student learns about the aesthetic judgements.
- The knowledge on the relation among artist, work of art, audience and art institutions is learned and the skill of interpretation
