Goals The main objective of this course is to introduce students to Renaissance theatre.
Course Content The course begins with giving information about the Eastern Theatre and dramatic demonstrations in the Islamic world. Afterwards, theatre activities and genres, acting styles, theatre architecture, etc. of Renaissance countries such as Italy, Spain, France and England, will be examined. Moreover, the sociocultural contexs and intellectual discourses of the relevant period will be explored.

9 Has the communicative skill of transmitting subjects and works that are related to the art of drama to not only his colleagues but also to other members of society in an active and correct manner, as well as the analytical power of evaluating the results of this.
10 Following the contemporary developments in the field of performing arts in Turkey and abroad, has the knowledge concerning national and international values.
11 Improves his/her skills in critical and creative thinking, as well as expressing his/her thoughts in oral, embodied and written forms.
12 Has the knowledge of theatre’s connections with other arts (literature, cinema, opera, music, dance, painting, sculpture, etc.), as well as social sciences (philosophy, anthropology, sociology, aesthetics, art history, political sciencee, etc.) and makes research and production in his/her own field by using this interdisciplinary viewpoint.
13 Uses the up-to-date information and communication technologies that are required in the art of drama.
14 Improves the skill of connecting with the social, economical, political and especially cultural heritage of the history of civilisations and spends effort to make these values prevalent within the social environment s/he lives through projects and activities that s/he would prepare.
