Goals The main purpose of this course is to make students identify theories as methods of questioning how meaning is generated in the reading process, but not as stereotypical approaches.
Course Content The course focuses on poststructuralism, structuralism, postmodernism, feminism and gender theories, theories of race, origin and nationalism, post-colonialism theory, new historicalism, ecocriticism, cultural theories and transhumanism.
Learning Outcomes - Identifies 20th Century Critical Theories.
- Determines the criterias of a qualified review.
- Understands that the concept of criticism is related to the social, political and cultural climate of the period.
- Improves critical thinking and writing skills.
