Goals | The course aims to examine different philosophical approaches and various issues of the history of ideas from the nineteenth century to today. |
Course Content | The idea of the modern world; positivism, language and meaning; historicism, phenomenology and hermeneutics; psychoanalysis and the unconscious; individualism and existentialism; mass culture; structuralism, post-structuralism, and post-modernism; orientalism and post-colonialism; environmentalism. |
