Goals The course aims to provide the students with the knowledge and perspectives necessary for them to become intellectual individuals who can think critically on cultural, social, moral, political and aesthetic issues.
Course Content A general historical survey of the universal questions about human existence and reality, methods of analysis and argument, and systematizations of values in different traditions of thought. The first part of the course covers the period ranging from prehistory to the late nineteenth century.
Learning Outcomes - To be capable of developing intellectual, critical thinking on the subjects of culture and the arts.
- To be capable of evaluating controversial ideas.
