Goals To teach arable production history and economic importance of agriculture, construction and agricultural land use classification based on the intended use of field crops, agricultural systems and infrastructure fields of agriculture, processing of land and soil, plant and water relations, growth and development in plant physiology, plant nutrition. seeds and seedlings, planting, maintenance, irrigation, plant protection, harvesting and threshing. Storage and post-harvest physiology of field crops products, the basic principles of plant breeding, seed certification and standardization in field crops, grains and industrial crops of economic importance, cultivation and use.
Course Content Field crops and production methods in croplands
Learning Outcomes - Students know the growing techniques of cereals, edible legumes, industrial crops and forage crops and ability to learn growing techniques to farmers
- Students determine and solve problems associated with general subjects of agronomy in a region
- Students are able to work on a project related with the solving problems of field crops in a region
- Students are sensitive about the environmental applications of the field crops
- Students know morphological traits of important field crop species,
- Students identify species of field crops
- Students know appropriate storage conditions for field crops
- Students propose appropriate field crops to farmers
