Goals Career Planning course enables students to get acquainted with the business world, different sectors and the requirements of these sectors; It aims to raise awareness in students about the importance of career planning in the preparation process for the business world. The course enables students to discover their personal competencies and to understand the expectations of the business world; helps them to develop their knowledge and skills in line with the requirements of the relevant sectors.
Course Content Courses will be organized for first year university students in the fall semester, for 14 weeks, one hour per week. The courses, in accordance with the topics and course contents; It should be processed by university lecturers, industry professionals and guest educators who will be invited from other universities and non-governmental organizations. Supporting activities to be included in the course should be designed to inform students about the methods and tools used in professional applications and to gain the ability to use them in the most effective way, and should be supported by practical assignments. Career centers should support the course practically with activities that provide experience opportunities that will support students to develop their skills. A sample program of the course structure and contents is attached.
Learning Outcomes - Being aware of the services offered by the Career Center and communicating with the center,
- Recognizes his/her strengths and areas of interest, recognizes his/her competencies and skills,
- They know sectors such as public and private sector, academia, non-governmental organizations in more detail, understand the differences between sectors and know the career field suitable for their future plans,
- Gains awareness about the expectations of the business world and the competencies they prioritize,
- Understands the importance of developing fine skills in the career process and the importance of issues affecting communication such as body language, diction, and addressing, develops accurate and effective communication skills
- Understands the importance of establishing a mutually beneficial relationship that is necessary for achieving career goals,
- Be aware of support services such as university units (international relations-exchange office and exchange programs) and national and international scholarships (TÜBİTAK, national agency) that can support his career,
- Gains knowledge about the ways of reaching the right resources and using the resources effectively in the career process,
