Goals The objective of the course is to inform the students about children’s books primarily literary children’s books and to establish an awareness for them in this context.
Course Content The external structure (shape) features required to be included in the literary children’s books (cover,-paperback-size-dimensions, images, letters, page layout, etc.) The internal structure (shape) features required to be included in the literary children’s books (subject, theme, language and expression features, characters, plan, etc.) Educational and basic principles required to be included in the literary children’s books The items that weaken the configuration of the subject in the children’s books
Learning Outcomes - It designs the activities that were designed benefitting from the works of children’s literature by considering the characteristics of children in preschool period.
- It assesses the works of children’s literature based on the criteria learned in the course.
- It designs activities for developing the linguistic skills of students in the focus of literary children’s books.
- It uses the Turkish language in correct and effective manner.
- It uses the products of the children’s literature which allow children to meet democracy, human rights/children’s rights, and social and universal values within the educational environment.
- It uses the correct terminology regarding literature and children’s literature.
- In the process of acquiring the reading culture by the individual, it know the importance of literary books addressing the preschool period.
- It discusses the contribution of literature and children’s literature to the child and society.
