Goals Turkish Youth of the national, human, conscious of their spiritual and cultural values, as a member of one of the Republic of Turkey, founded by the Great Ataturk, know their duties and responsibilities towards the state, believing that the Turkish state with its territory and nation is an indivisible whole is and it's right proud, understanding the principles of Atatürk heartily, embracing sincerely, trying to be more useful to his country with the power of these beliefs, democratic thinking and behaving, scientific thinking, loving and respecting human rights, respecting, questioning and critical attitude, The aim of this course is to bring young people who can comprehend the events of the age, develop a scientific perspective against historical events and aim to reach the level of contemporary civilizations.
Course Content The aim of Atatürk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution, the meaning of concepts such as revolution, reform, Tanzimat and constitutionalism, similarities and differences of these concepts to each other, examples of these concepts in history and analysis of examples according to the content of concepts. In the context of understanding the historical foundations of the Turkish Revolution; Depression experienced by the Ottoman Empire, internal and external dynamics affecting this crisis, analysis of the dynamics in question and their effects on the Turkish Revolution. Modernization efforts in order to preserve the existence of the Ottoman Empire, Tanzimat, Reform and Constitutional processes within the scope of these efforts, the intellectual infrastructure of the modernization process and the Ottomanism, Islamism, Turkism and Westernism in this context, the effects of these movements on the Turkish Revolution and the present day. The dissolution process of the Ottoman Empire, the political, social, economic and cultural dynamics in this process, the Tripoli War, the Balkan Wars, the First World War and the Mondros Armistice in the dissolution process. The “Orient Issue te during the transition to the republic and the pre-Ottoman period, the emergence of this issue, the policies of the states within this issue, the effects of these policies on the Ottoman State, the“ Orient Issue ında during the transition period to the Republic.
