[] About Program

The use of computer in business world is getting wider day by day in Turkey as all over the world. It has become required to fulfill the needs of the century. In short, the content of computer-aided design and manufacturing program is to draw the pictures of manufacturing, mounting and complete mounting of the products to be manufactured in industrial production with their maintenance and usage catalogues in computer environment in two or three dimensions and to train the students on generation of numeric codes software and CNC counter. The goal of the program is to train students with the knowledge, ability and qualifications desired in industry sector as intermediate staff to be employed in this area. To reach these goals, courses are taught theoretically and practically. For the professional education, students are provided with necessary knowledge and competences. Students, in addition, do internship to gain the necessary knowledge and abilities by seeing the applications in the industry. Düzce has a great advantage for socia-economic development as it is located between two big cities, Ankara and Istanbul. Another factor is its boarder with Marmara Region called as the zone of industry. Düzce, compared to other cities, is among the ones which develop industrially. Many firms whose centers are in İstanbul and which are active in industries such as automotive supply industry, agricultural machinery, construction materials, packaging and furnishing, agricultural chemicals make production in Düzce. Machinery industry has become a sector which develops rapidly all around the world, and whose market share has increased and conditions of competition has become more difficult. For these reasons, it is a branch of industry that develops continuously, renews itself and focuses on research and development. Computer-aided design and manufacturing program contributes to the employment rate positively in the cities having industrial infrastructure.   It contributes to the economy of Turkey in a great degree since it is a program based on design and manufacturing. It has been determined that a great deal of qualified employees is required in and around Düzce. To staff for the professions which are active in the sectors mentioned above, computer-aided design and manufacturing has great importance.

[] Admission Requirements
The admissions of students to the programs are made according to the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM – University entrance exam) within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC). After students inform the Student Selection and Placement Center about what programs they want to study at, students are placed in the related programs according to their scores they got from the exam. Graduates of related vocational high schools can enroll in the department within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC).

Foreign students are admitted to the related programs with the scores of internationally acceptable exams such as SAT, ACT or are admitted to the related programs with their high school graduation grades (Undergraduate and Graduate Programs for Foreign Students Admission Guidelines).

The admission of students of General Academic Exchange Protocol to the related programs are done within the framework of the bilateral agreements (ERASMUS, FARABI, etc) signed between Duzce University and the partner universities. Guest students may enroll into the courses in this program, if the related academic unit approves. Sufficient language knowledge is required to monitor the program.

[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.

Recognition of Education Abroad

DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.

Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.

In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.

At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.
[] Description of Program

Efficient and right application of equipment and machinery in industrial actions are quite important. The lack of work force equipped and skilled in engineering sciences, production, mechanical design and mechanics fields with computer, analysis and design skills is high. Graduated students who have a mechanical technician title earn general knowledge and ability in the subjects such as traditional manufacturing methods, design techniques, material choice, computer-aided design and manufacturing methods. This program intends to include all kinds of practical and theoretical aspects of the field of study and it aims to furnish students with fundamental knowledge about mechanical design, mechanical science and mechanical components to equip students with the skills required in conventional manufacturing methods, design techniques, material choice, computer-aided design and manufacturing methods.
