Today, the architecture and construction sectors prioritize not only design but also technology, speed, and constructability. Bringing complex building designs to life is only possible with strong Computer-Aided Design (CAD) knowledge and a solid technical infrastructure.
The Architectural Drafting Program was established to train qualified technical personnel capable of digitally drafting preliminary, implementation, and detail projects designed by architects and engineers, in accordance with desired measurements and using technical knowledge related to construction technology. Our program, which began admitting students in 2008, is highly sought after as it fills the industry's gap for "technical personnel proficient in technology."
Education Model: Workplace Training with 3+1 The "3+1 Education Model" is implemented in our program to enable students to adapt to the industry more quickly. In this system, our students receive theoretical and applied courses at school for three semesters, while completing their final semester by undergoing full-time "Workplace Vocational Training" at enterprises. Thanks to this model, our students gain sectoral experience before graduating and start their professional lives one step ahead.
Course Content and Learning Outcomes Our students graduate with 120 ECTS credits at the end of two years. The courses in our curriculum, covering both theory and practice, encompass every stage of the building production process.
The main vocational courses offered in our program are:
Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD)
Architectural Implementation Project
Architectural Detailing
Model Making
Building Materials
Zoning Regulations (İmar Bilgisi)
Building Knowledge
Construction Technology
Surveying and Restoration (Rölöve)
Construction Cost Estimation
Structural System Design
Reinforced Concrete Implementation Project
Software Skills & Employability Students graduating from the program increase their employability in the sector by learning current design and visualization programs such as AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, and Lumion, as well as quantity takeoff and progress payment software like Oska.
Career Opportunities Our graduates can work in official institutions such as municipalities, private engineering and architectural firms, construction sites, and building inspection firms.
Vertical Transfer Opportunities (DGS) Additionally, graduated Architectural Drafting Technicians who wish to continue their careers at the undergraduate (Bachelor's) level have the opportunity to transfer to the following departments via the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM:
Architecture
Civil Engineering
Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Assets
The main purpose of Architectural Drafting Program is to train qualified personnel graduated from vocational schools who can take jobs to draw the construction plans prepared by architects and engineers (especially architectural and statically projects) in accordance with the rules of the desired dimensions. Mathematics, Building Knowledge, Computer, Construction Technology, Professional Technical Drawing, Zoning Information, Building Materials, Architectural Application Project I-II, Interior Design, Computer Aided Drafting I-II-III, Reinforced Concrete Implementation Project, Construction Cost Calculations, Model Making, Perspective , Designing of Structural Systems, Building Survey and Restoration etc. lessons are being taught in the Architectural Drafting program. The students in Architectural Drafting program have the opportunity to pass the bachelor program of Architecture by an exam.
