[] About Program

This program provides students with the fundamental skills necessary to become experts in the field of alternative energy technology. The Human Resources Development Through Vocational Education Project (İKMEP) aims to develop educational programs based on fifth-level vocational standards, focused on the labor market, vocational schools, and vocational and technical secondary education institutions. In this context, the Renewable Energy Technician Program, part of the Energy and Electricity Department, which provides a wide range of employment opportunities for the energy sector in industrialized countries, was developed with the needs of the sector in mind. Renewable energy often requires complex technological applications and the ability to perform these applications. The aim of this program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to utilize alternative energy sources such as geothermal, wind, solar, biomass, and heat pumps, which hold significant potential in our country, and to train qualified personnel.

[] Goals

PEA1. Our graduates work as qualified technicians who contribute to the country's energy independence by taking part in the design, installation, and management processes of renewable energy sources, primarily solar and wind, in the public and private sectors within the framework of national and international energy policies. PEA2. Our graduates use their theoretical and practical competencies not only in the installation of energy systems but also in efficiency analyses, fault detection, and system optimization processes to provide solutions to technical problems in the sector. PEA3: To train graduates who are team-oriented, have developed communication skills, adhere to professional ethical values, and work in accordance with occupational health and safety rules. PEA4: To train individuals who have a continuous learning mindset, can follow technological developments, can monitor innovations in their professional field with their foreign language skills, and can continue their professional development.

[] Objectives

Our goal is to be a pioneering educational program that cultivates individuals capable of developing sustainable solutions to meet the energy needs of the future. We closely follow developments in the field of renewable energy and continuously update our curriculum to ensure our students are competitive at both national and international levels. Within this framework, we aim to contribute to creating positive change in society by training graduates who are environmentally conscious and possess an innovative mindset. In this context, our program aims to help both our country and the world take steps towards a greener future by cultivating individuals who act with a sense of social responsibility alongside academic excellence.

[] Education Language
Turkish
[] Degree to Be Won

Students who successfully complete this program are entitled to receive an associate degree in Renewable Energy Technology.

[] Earned Level of Qualification

This program is an associate degree program.

[] Admission Requirements

The admissions of students to the programs are made according to the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM – University entrance exam) within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC). After students inform the Student Selection and Placement Center about what programs they want to study at, students are placed in the related programs according to their scores they got from the exam. Graduates of related vocational high schools can enroll in the department within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC).

Foreign students are admitted to the related programs with the scores of internationally acceptable exams such as SAT, ACT or are admitted to the related programs with their high school graduation grades (Undergraduate and Graduate Programs for Foreign Students Admission Guidelines).

The admission of students of General Academic Exchange Protocol to the related programs are done within the framework of the bilateral agreements (ERASMUS, FARABI, etc) signed between Duzce University and the partner universities. Guest students may enroll into the courses in this program, if the related academic unit approves. Sufficient language knowledge is required to monitor the program.
