An efficient and effective public administration will facilitate the lives of citizens in all areas, increase the level of life and ensure satisfaction with the administration. Effective and efficient administration is directly related to the qualifications and professional knowledge of the employees working in public institutions. Moreover, it is also closely related to the private sector employees within the framework of many projects and works contributed by the private sector in which public institutions are stakeholders. In this context, the Political Science and Public Administration master's program aims to train managers who will take part in various management levels required by both the public and private sectors, who have the theoretical knowledge required by the contemporary management approach and who can transfer this knowledge to practice. In line with this aim, the program implements a unique curriculum in order to provide its students with the ability to assume a managerial role by getting to know the rapidly developing and transforming Turkish administrative structure and society, and to equip them with knowledge that includes the details of new, contemporary public administration and political science. At the same time, this program also aims to train the scientific staff needed in academia. As academician candidates, students will be enabled to evaluate political and social phenomena from a scientific perspective by participating in scientific research processes. The master's program of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, which is structured in a way to enable students to gain theoretical and practical formation, has been formed in a way to balance the disciplines of “Public Policy, Management Sciences, Political and Social Sciences, Comparative Politics, Law”. While prospective students learn the policy-making processes and the methods of analyzing the developed policies, they will also be able to approach urban and environmental problems with global solutions by addressing the issue of sustainability of resources.
