The Department of Spiritual Counseling and Guidance within
Düzce University Graduate Education Institute was established with an
interdisciplinary perspective. In the department, there is a second cycle
non-thesis master's program. This program aims to provide participants with
both theoretical and practical skills in understanding the spiritual needs of
individuals, accompanying, supporting and guiding them.
The content of the program covers areas such as the impact of
psychological theories on spirituality, various application areas of spiritual
counseling, understanding and managing behavioral disorders, the role of
spiritual counseling in social service institutions, scales used in the
spiritual counseling process, advanced counseling and psychological counseling
skills and psychological foundations of religion.
Students who successfully complete the program; It is aimed
to equip students with the knowledge and skills to undertake professional
duties in hospitals, dormitories, prisons and detention houses, elderly care
and nursing homes, orphanages and orphanages, institutions providing spiritual
support services for disadvantaged individuals and family guidance offices.
The Interdisciplinary Master's Program in Spiritual Counseling and Guidance aims to train experts who can respond to individuals' spiritual, psychological, educational, and social needs with a holistic approach, by integrating perspectives from various disciplines. The program seeks to equip students with knowledge in religious, cultural, psychological, educational sciences, and sociology, enabling them to effectively support individuals from diverse backgrounds. In this way, graduates are trained to become competent individuals capable of providing spiritual guidance and counseling services at both the individual and societal levels.
Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a Master's degree in Spiritual Counseling and Guidance.
This program is a graduate-level program.
Application and Acceptance Requirements:
Graduation from one of the undergraduate programs of Theology and Islamic Sciences, Religious Culture and Ethics, Psychology, Sociology, Psychological Counseling and Guidance, Social Services, Nursing, Faculty of Education, Classroom Teaching and Preschool Teaching.
Evaluation:
Students are accepted to the program within the quota in the ranking to be made from the highest grade point average, taking into account the undergraduate success grade of the candidates.
Students enrolled in the non-thesis master’s program must:
• Register for at least 10 courses and a Graduation Project, and complete 120 ECTS credits. (The Graduation Project, evaluated as “Pass/Fail,” does not have a local credit value.)
• Obtain a minimum grade of CB in each course to be considered successful.
• Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 in all required courses in the program and must pass the Seminar course and the Graduation Project.
The Interdisciplinary Master's Program in Spiritual Counseling and Guidance is an academic program that integrates knowledge from various disciplines, adopting a holistic approach to address religious, spiritual and psychological needs, and aims to train counselors specialized in these areas.

Graduates of the non-thesis master's program are not eligible to apply for the doctoral program.
The structure of the program consists of two mandatory and three elective courses in the first and second semesters, and a project supervision course in the third and fourth semesters.
